Aryan, or with his real name Henry Markarian; was born in November
14, 1935; as a boy of an immigrant Lebanese family. He grew up in a
7-child crowded family.
He was self conscious, silent and melancholic during his middle
school years. He was loving literature. For him, art and music
expressed life more than numbers and formulas.
He expelled from the school because of this passion of music and
poetry. The economy of his family was not good. He began to work
with his father; but after a short while, he went to Paris to his
passion of music and literature.
After a short while, he became ill and he retrated for 2 years. In
the meantime, he paid his attention to music. In spite of the
tiredness because of the illness, he mostly spent his time with his
piano.
He was a musician when he recovered. By astonished with his will,
his family opened a small record shop for him. But his purpose was
to sing and compose, not to sell.
In 1957, he found himself again on the way to Paris. Then, he was
more assertive because he would sing. Despite some dissapointing
meetings with the producers, he didn't give up.
He had a big frustration also when he released his first record, but
never hesitated to continue on his way. He established his own
record company.
Firstly, he named his company as "Markal". And later; changed it to
"Malatya", by inspiration of the city where his family lived in
Turkey after Lebanon.
In those times, he released his first record of 4-song "Marc Aryan
with the Europe Boys and the Aryanes" with an amount of 3000. It
became a popular record and he began to use "Marc Aryan".
Several companies which they closed the door kindly some time ago,
were now making offers to him. Released every song, every record was
becoming classic.
Markarian performed his first concert in Belgium, on August 22, 1965
at Jumes-Hamandet. His records sell in 15 countries. He performed 2
concerts in Turkey in 1966 and 1969.
Under the influence of his family; he loved Turkey, moreover he put
his love to his songs. Turkish was the 10th. language he spoke.

Alpay's 'Eylul'de Gel', Fecri Ebcioglu's 'Kimdir Bu Sevgili'
belonged to Aryan.
In early 1970's, his song 'Istanbul' was one of the best songs
composed for Istanbul. Also a classic song of Turkish Pop Music

He presented his song 'Katy' to world music in early 1970s. He
released 'La Lettre' in 1973 to support independant radio stations.
He was on stage for many benefit concerts.
He met with Marianne Bouriez in the beginning of 1980s and loved
her. They married in 1984. Fame, love and music was with Aryan. But
